In My Experience
In my experience, life can take many unexpected turns that leave you wondering what’s next. Sometimes the best thing to do is pause and breathe. Reflecting on the past will not change what happened, but it can offer insight into what may come. The goal is not to dwell, only to consider long enough to gain perspective.
Considering hopes and dreams and putting them on paper can help bring direction into focus. Writing things down creates space to decide what creative path feels right. When no one’s livelihood depends on the next step, there is freedom to take risks and explore possibilities, even when fear is present.
When survival becomes the priority, decisions shift. Desperation can take control, and fear can narrow vision. Doing what must be done becomes necessary, often at the cost of curiosity and imagination. Operating from that place can limit possibilities, even while building endurance.
Making it through those moments builds resilience. It proves strength and determination. But there comes a point when a different question deserves attention. Does life have to be this hard? Is it possible to move forward with more intention and less urgency?
Choosing to slow the pace is not giving up. It is recalibrating. Discovering what brings fulfillment matters. Literacy matters. Helping others navigate their professional paths matters. Staying connected, being out in the world, and creating memories matters. These are not extras. They are part of living well.
If you find yourself questioning what comes next, you are not alone. This space is for reflection, growth, and thoughtful forward movement. Journey with me.
